# Connecting at Charlotte at CLT

What a connection here involves, and why the checkpoint you pick does not decide your gate.

## You walk it

Charlotte is compact for its traffic. A connection is a walk through the Atrium, with no train ride and no shuttle in between.

## Any checkpoint reaches any gate

Every concourse and every gate at Charlotte is reachable from any of the three checkpoints, so which one you use is a question of queue, not of destination.

## After eight in the evening

Checkpoint 1 runs 3:45 a.m. to 8 p.m. and takes standard, special assistance and family screening. Checkpoint 3 keeps the same hours. Checkpoint 2 carries the main PreCheck lane until 11 p.m. and is the only one open past eight in the evening.
