# Calgary International Airport (YYC)

Canada

## The two terminals

Calgary has two terminals. The Domestic Terminal holds Concourses A, B and C, for flights within Canada, and the International Terminal holds the D and E gates. There is no train inside the airport; an electric cart runs along the connection corridor for anyone who needs help with the walk.

Mezzanine: In the Domestic Terminal, before security. The Prayer Room is here, near the food court. Domestic Terminal · Departures: The Rental Car Centre is across the roadway from this level, and a fun zone for ages 5 to 12 is by Door 1. Domestic Terminal · Arrivals: Domestic baggage claim and the pick-up curb. The staffed Information desk is near Door 9. International Terminal · Departures: Bag Storage & Coat Check is here, between Doors 14 and 15, across from the escalators. Departures USA: The U.S. Departures hall, past Pre-Board Screening E: the E gates, where travellers clear U.S. customs before boarding. Departures International: The International Departures hall, past Pre-Board Screening D: the D gates. International Terminal · Arrivals: International arrivals leave the customs-controlled area between Doors 15 and 16. A self-serve Information desk is near Door 15 and a fun zone by Door 16.

Flights to the United States leave from the E gates, in the U.S. Departures hall, because you clear American customs here in Calgary before boarding.

Your airline's current gate and departure instructions take precedence over this guide.

## Getting through security

Calgary has consolidated its domestic checkpoints into one screening area between Doors 4 and 7, open 04:00 to 01:15 or until the last flight.

Concourse D screens Canada and international flights, 05:00 to 00:30. Flights to the United States screen at Concourse E, 04:00 to 20:00, and you can reach that checkpoint no more than two hours before your scheduled departure.

## Getting into Calgary

There is no rail line to this airport. Calgary Transit runs buses that meet the light rail elsewhere in the city, and everything else is a taxi, a booked ride or a car.

A taxi to downtown runs roughly $40 to $45 on the meter. Every pick-up at the terminal adds an airport access fee of $5.10 plus GST, and a drop-off adds $4.60.

## Parking and pick-up

Six places to leave a car. Short-term in either parkade gives the first twenty minutes free, then $5 for each twenty after that. Long-term in P1 or P2 is $32 a day, and the economy lot is $16.

Meeting someone is cheaper from the cellphone lot than from the kerb. Wait there and drive up when they call.

## Help in the building

Information desks sit on the Arrivals level near Door 9 and elsewhere in both terminals. They hold hotel numbers and a courtesy phone for calling a shuttle.

Accessibility services are arranged on 403 735 1200, and the airport asks that you call ahead rather than arrive hoping.
