What Fly Whenever collects when you read a page or sign up for fare alerts, why, who else handles it, and how to see, correct or delete it.
Who runs Fly Whenever
Fly Whenever is run by Mastering Reselling Solutions, a company based in Alberta, Canada. We're responsible for the personal information this site handles. Questions about it go to the contact address on our contact page.
The short version
Reading pages needs no account. If you sign up for fare alerts, we keep your email address and your airports so we can send those alerts. We don't sell your personal information. Every email we send has an unsubscribe link.
When you read a page
Like any website, Fly Whenever runs on a web host (Cloudflare) that receives your IP address and the details of each request, to deliver the page and to protect the site from abuse.
We set two small cookies of our own. fw_source remembers, for 30 days, which of our links brought you here, so we can count which pages lead to signups; it's set only when you arrive through one of those links. fw_hero keeps the home page looking the same on each visit for 90 days while we compare versions of it.
The pages load no analytics, no tracking pixels and no advertising scripts.
Fare alerts
When you sign up, we keep your email address, the airports you chose, when you signed up and confirmed, the page and form you used, and the wording you agreed to, so we can show you asked for the emails. We send one confirmation email first, and nothing else until you confirm.
We use your address only to send the alerts and the messages about them that you asked for. Every email has an unsubscribe link; unsubscribing takes effect at once, and always within ten business days. Afterwards we keep your address on a do-not-email list, so you aren't emailed again by mistake.
When you write to us
If you email us, we keep your message and your address so we can answer you, and so a correction can be traced back to the report that prompted it. We don't add you to any list.
Who else handles your information
Cloudflare hosts the site, stores its data and delivers our emails. Their servers can be outside Canada, including in the United States, where the law gives authorities there access in some circumstances. The companies that supply our flight data receive nothing about you.
How long we keep it
Your fare-alert subscription stays until you unsubscribe. The record that you asked for the emails, and your place on the do-not-email list, are kept as long as we may need to show we only emailed people who asked. Messages you send us are kept until the question or correction is settled. We keep no record of your visits of our own.
Your choices
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Write to the contact address on our contact page; we answer within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with the answer, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or to the data protection authority where you live.
Children
Fly Whenever is written for travellers and isn't directed to children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
This version takes effect on the date below. When we change the policy, we change that date.
