Flights at MDW
Plan your time at MDW: finding your terminal, onward transport and practical airport services.
One terminal, three concourses
Midway fits everything into one square mile, which is how the airport describes itself, and one terminal with Concourses A, B and C. Southwest uses A and B and is the reason the airport is the size it is. Delta, Allegiant, Porter and Volaris use A, and Frontier uses C.
Check-In: Upper Level Ticketing, with access to the 4th level of the parking garage and Departures. Mezzanine: Mezzanine Level, with access to the 3rd level of the parking garage. The chapel is on this level above Central Market. Departures: The security checkpoint, Central Market and Concourses A, B and C. Arrivals / Baggage Claim: Lower Level Baggage Claim, with access to the 1st level of the parking garage and Arrivals.
Your airline's current gate and departure instructions take precedence over this guide.
The Orange Line
Chicago's 'L' runs from Midway into the Loop on elevated track, and the airport calls it the easiest and most affordable way in from downtown. Trains run from about 4:00 or 4:30 in the morning until roughly 1 a.m., more often at weekday rush hours.
Overnight the trains stop and the N62 Archer bus covers the gap. Pace buses serve the suburbs.
Parking, and the twenty-four dollar difference
The terminal garage sits next to the building at 5701 South Cicero Avenue. Level 1 is hourly and levels 2 to 6 are daily, and they charge the same up to eight hours: four dollars for the first, then eight, twelve, sixteen and thirty-two.
Past eight hours they part company. A full day is $43 on the daily levels and $67 on the hourly one. The Economy Garage a quarter of a mile west at 5050 West 55th Street charges $15 for the same day.
Reserving a space costs $10 a day on top of the parking itself.
Getting to O'Hare
Chicago runs two airports and Midway publishes the route between them. Take the Orange Line from Midway to Clark/Lake downtown, transfer free of charge to the Blue Line, and ride it to O'Hare. Midway says to allow up to two hours. A shared-ride taxi is the other option, at $35 a person.
What the terminal holds
Midway publishes a kids' play area near Gate A5, a Mother's Room and a Yoga Room in Concourse C, and a lactation pod at Gate A5.
The parking garage office is on (773) 838-0756 for vehicle assistance, a booted car, a stay over thirty days or accessible parking.
